Education & training

Take the tuition, teach the course, keep the fee.

Schools, bootcamps and training providers collect for terms that run for months and enrol students from anywhere. Card companies price the delivery gap as risk and international payments as friction. Being paid to a wallet you control answers both.

Why this category gets penalised

The problem is the gap between paying and delivering.

Fees collected before a course that runs for months

Tuition taken in advance of a term is exposed for the whole teaching period, and prepaid education is a recognised delayed-delivery category where card companies commonly impose a rolling reserve.

Settlement is treated as final only after the required network confirmations, and that confirmed leg is not a card-network dispute rail, so course length has no bearing on when you can spend the fee.

Disputes once course access is granted

A student who has logged in, downloaded the material and then disputes leaves you with attendance logs a card company is not obliged to find compelling — and the funds are pulled back before the argument starts.

Zoyn does not reverse a settled payment, so your enrolment agreement decides withdrawals rather than an issuer.

Instructor revenue share worked out by hand

Courses delivered by contract instructors or partner academies owe a share of every enrolment, usually calculated at month end and paid out of the school's own account.

Enrolment fees settle to your wallet, final, at confirmation, so instructors can be paid on timing you control, from your own wallet, out of money that has already landed — no waiting on a month-end settlement.

International students, declined cards

Cross-border tuition payments meet issuer declines, currency conversion and cross-border interchange, and the family's bank transfer alternative brings a correspondent bank and a spread.

Students pay by card in the countries listed on our Markets page, or directly in crypto, and either route settles as USDC by default.

How it works

One payment, settled to a wallet you control.

How a payment settles through ZoynA customer pays a payment link. The payment reaches a settlement contract, which divides it in fixed proportions set when it was deployed and pays the merchant’s own wallet and the platform fee directly. Zoyn sits outside the flow of funds.CustomerHostedcheckoutSplitcontractYour walletPlatform feeZoyn (config)Funds never pass through Zoyn
1

Create the enrolment link

Set the fixed amount for the term, module or cohort and add your student reference. Send it with the offer or the enrolment pack.

2

Student pays their way

Card or crypto on a hosted checkout. Card availability depends on the buyer's location, currency, and available checkout providers. Card-funded payments are handled by the checkout provider — you never touch card data.

3

Your share is fixed up front

The shares are fixed when your payments are set up: the school's share and the platform fee. Every enrolment follows them exactly, and each one can be checked on a public record.

4

USDC lands in your wallet

Final after the required network confirmations, into a wallet the school controls.

Your type of business

Businesses in this group can apply. You pick your exact type of business when you apply, and every application is reviewed.

Jurisdictions we cannot serve

We cannot onboard merchants operating from comprehensively sanctioned jurisdictions. A US state stays open when at least one checkout partner still serves buyers there. We do not hold ourselves out as licensed anywhere.

Wallet addresses you'll be paid to are checked against sanctions lists when you enter them, and re-checked every day after that.

Common questions

What education & training merchants ask first.

Can we offer a payment plan across the term?

You can send a separate fixed-amount link for each stage, and the student completes each one. What Zoyn does not do is recurring billing: no instalment is ever debited automatically, so a plan is a schedule of links you send rather than a mandate over the student's card.

What if a student withdraws part-way through?

You refund from your own wallet according to your withdrawal policy. Zoyn does not reverse it, and there is no card-scheme chargeback fee on wallet payments, so the pro-rata calculation in your enrolment agreement is what governs — not an issuer's dispute rules. For card payments, your payment provider handles card disputes with the cardholder's bank.

Do you hold tuition until the course finishes?

No. Zoyn is not a payment processor and does not defer or escrow settlement. Payments pass automatically from the student to a wallet you control, and Zoyn never holds them.

Legal & regulatory disclosures

Zoyn is software. It is not a bank, a payment processor, a payment gateway, a money transmitter or a money services business. Zoyn is never the seller in a sale (the "merchant of record"). Zoyn never holds a shop's money, and does not decide how long a payment company may hold it. When a customer pays by card or bank, the payment company handles that payment under its own terms and may hold it for a short time. The money then goes to the shop's own payment contract once the payment network has confirmed it.

Businesses can be based in 64 jurisdictions. A US state stays open when at least one checkout partner still serves buyers there. Customers can pay from 130+ countries through the checkout providers we connect to; which countries customers can pay from is set by those providers, not by Zoyn, and may change without notice. Not available in sanctioned jurisdictions: Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan, Syria, and the Crimea, Donetsk, and Luhansk regions of Ukraine.
