Payments for plumbers and electricians

Get paid for the call-out when the customer isn't there.

Plumbers, electricians, locksmiths and handymen often fix something for a landlord, a letting agent or a holiday-let owner who lives somewhere else. Text one link for the job once it is done, with the job number as the description, and the owner pays from wherever they are. They pay from their own wallet, and stablecoins settle to a wallet you control.

Before you read on: we publish every business type we take and every one we refuse — 28 we take, 11 we refuse.

Why this is harder than it looks

Someone else pays, and the price is known at the end.

The person paying lives elsewhere

The tenant or a neighbour let you in, but the owner pays the bill, and they may be in another town or another country.

Text or email the link to the owner. Every link is a single payment of a fixed amount.

The final price is known at the end

A leak or a fault can turn out bigger than it sounded on the phone.

Send the link once the job is done, for the amount on your invoice. If more work is agreed later, that is a new link.

The customer standing next to you

Someone at the door with a card expects a quick tap.

A link is not the quickest way at the door: a card payment through the checkout comes with the buyer's own eligibility and identity checks. Links suit the customer who isn't there.

Call-out payments settle to a wallet only you control.

Two limits worth knowing. If your own account with us is under review, automatic payouts pause until that is resolved. And a buyer paying by card can be declined, or asked to prove who they are, before the money is sent — a payment that doesn't happen, never money taken back from you afterwards.

How it works

Fix it, text the link, get paid.

1

Agree your call-out terms

Your terms say what the call-out covers, how extra work is agreed, and when the invoice is due.

2

Text the link when the job is done

The owner pays from their own wallet, or by card where available — buyer eligibility depends on country, payment method, provider, and compliance checks.

3

The payment reaches your wallet

After the required network confirmations, in the currency the link was set in.

Common questions

What a tradesperson asks first.

A letting agent pays for jobs at several homes.

Send a link for each job, with the job number as the description, so each payment points back to its invoice.

Can I keep the owner's card for next time?

No. Zoyn keeps no card on file and charges nothing automatically. Each job is its own link.

The customer says it still isn't fixed.

Your terms decide what happens next and what is owed. Returning any of it is a payment you send back yourself. Zoyn has no refund button.

What does it cost me?

A percentage of each payment, agreed with you in writing before you go live: crypto payments start at 0.75%, and card payments, if your business can take them, have a separate, higher price. No monthly platform fee and no setup fee. Network fees, and any extra charge for how your customer pays, are separate. Your customer pays them on top of your price and sees their total before they pay.

Will you take my plumbing or electrical business?

We publish every business type we take and every one we refuse, and every application is reviewed before it goes live. We don't promise a timeline we can't keep.

Doing bigger work for an owner who lives abroad? Read the page for renovation for overseas owners. Working in another home trade? Read the page for home services. Not sure we'd take your business? See exactly how we decide.

Send your next call-out invoice as one link.

Apply today, and settle each payment to a wallet only you control after the required network confirmations. Every application is reviewed.

Zoyn is software. It is not a bank, a payment processor, a payment gateway, a money transmitter or a money services business. Zoyn is never the seller in a sale (the "merchant of record"). Zoyn never holds a shop's money, and does not decide how long a payment company may hold it. When a customer pays by card or bank, the payment company handles that payment under its own terms and may hold it for a short time. The money then goes to the shop's own payment contract once the payment network has confirmed it.

Businesses can be based in 64 jurisdictions. A US state stays open when at least one checkout partner still serves buyers there. Customers can pay from 130+ countries through the checkout providers we connect to; which countries customers can pay from is set by those providers, not by Zoyn, and may change without notice. Not available in sanctioned jurisdictions: Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan, Syria, and the Crimea, Donetsk, and Luhansk regions of Ukraine.
