Payments for book printers

The run starts when the money lands. The author is in another country.

Book printers producing short runs for self-published authors and small publishers abroad need paying before the press starts. Send one link once the proof is signed off, and stablecoins settle to a wallet you control.

Before you read on: we publish every business type we take and every one we refuse — 28 we take, 11 we refuse.

Why this is harder than it looks

A press booked for one job, an author abroad, and a proof that decides it.

The run starts only when the money lands

Paper is ordered and the press is booked for one job. You can't start on a promise.

Send one link for the order, with the order number as the description, and start the run when it is paid. Every link is a single payment of a fixed amount.

The author is in another country

Self-published authors and small publishers often order from a printer abroad, and a bank wire to another country costs them fees.

The author pays from their own wallet, or by card where available — buyer eligibility depends on country, payment method, provider, and compliance checks.

Colour and binding are judged against the proof

A printed book that doesn't look like the author expected turns into a long email thread.

Send the proof first, and send the link once the proof is signed off. The order number on the link points back to the proof that was approved.

Print orders settle to a wallet only you control.

Two limits worth knowing. If your own account with us is under review, automatic payouts pause until that is resolved. And a buyer paying by card can be declined, or asked to prove who they are, before the money is sent — a payment that doesn't happen, never money taken back from you afterwards.

How it works

Proof, payment, then the press.

1

Quote the run and send the proof

Quantity, paper, binding, and the proof the author signs off.

2

Send the payment link

One link for the order. If your terms ask for a deposit first, that is its own link.

3

The payment reaches your wallet

After the required network confirmations, in the currency the link was set in. Then start the run.

Common questions

What a book printer asks first.

Can the author pay in instalments?

No. Every link is a single payment for a fixed amount, and nothing is charged automatically. A deposit and a balance are two links.

The author wants a reprint later.

Quote the reprint and send it as its own link. Shipping can be its own link too, if you charge it separately.

The author says the colours are wrong. What then?

Your terms and the signed-off proof decide what is owed. A payment taken this way is a full payment, so returning any of it is a payment you send back yourself. Zoyn has no refund button.

What does it cost me?

A percentage of each payment, agreed with you in writing before you go live: crypto payments start at 0.75%, and card payments, if your business can take them, have a separate, higher price. No monthly platform fee and no setup fee. Network fees, and any extra charge for how your customer pays, are separate. Your customer pays them on top of your price and sees their total before they pay.

Will you take my printing business?

We publish every business type we take and every one we refuse, and every application is reviewed before it goes live. We don't promise a timeline we can't keep.

Publishing books rather than printing them? Read the page for publishing. Not sure we'd take your business? See exactly how we decide.

Take your next print run as one link.

Apply today, and settle each payment to a wallet only you control after the required network confirmations. Every application is reviewed.

Legal & regulatory disclosures

Zoyn is software. It is not a bank, a payment processor, a payment gateway, a money transmitter or a money services business. Zoyn is never the seller in a sale (the "merchant of record"). Zoyn never holds a shop's money, and does not decide how long a payment company may hold it. When a customer pays by card or bank, the payment company handles that payment under its own terms and may hold it for a short time. The money then goes to the shop's own payment contract once the payment network has confirmed it.

Businesses can be based in 64 jurisdictions. A US state stays open when at least one checkout partner still serves buyers there. Customers can pay from 130+ countries through the checkout providers we connect to; which countries customers can pay from is set by those providers, not by Zoyn, and may change without notice. Not available in sanctioned jurisdictions: Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan, Syria, and the Crimea, Donetsk, and Luhansk regions of Ukraine.
