Payments for bespoke tailors

The fitting is in another country. The deposit is taken there.

Travelling tailors measure clients in hotel suites and trunk shows abroad, then finish the garment at home. Send a link for the deposit at the first fitting and one for the balance, and stablecoins settle to a wallet you control.

Before you read on: we publish every business type we take and every one we refuse — 28 we take, 11 we refuse.

Why this is harder than it looks

A fitting far from the shop, a client at home, and cloth that can't be resold.

The first fitting is far from the shop

The client is measured in a hotel suite in another city, and there is no till to take a deposit.

Send the deposit link while the client is still with you, with the order number as the description. Every link is a single payment of a fixed amount.

The client pays from home

The balance is due after the last fitting, when the client is back in their own country.

Send the balance link before the finished garment is sent. The client pays from their own wallet, or by card where available — buyer eligibility depends on country, payment method, provider, and compliance checks.

A made-to-measure garment can't be resold

Once the cloth is cut to one person's measurements, a cancelled order is a loss.

Your terms of order decide what is owed if the client cancels. Returning any of the deposit is a payment you send yourself.

Deposits and balances settle to a wallet only you control.

Two limits worth knowing. If your own account with us is under review, automatic payouts pause until that is resolved. And a buyer paying by card can be declined, or asked to prove who they are, before the money is sent — a payment that doesn't happen, never money taken back from you afterwards.

How it works

A deposit at the fitting, then the balance.

1

Measure the client and choose the cloth

At your shop, a hotel suite or a trunk show.

2

Send the deposit link there and then

Then the balance link before the garment is sent.

3

The payment reaches your wallet

After the required network confirmations, in the currency the link was set in.

Common questions

What a travelling tailor asks first.

Can the client pay the balance in parts?

No. Every link is a single payment for a fixed amount, and nothing is charged automatically. A deposit and a balance are two links.

The client wants alterations after delivery.

Quote the alteration and send it as its own link.

The client cancelled after the cloth was cut. What then?

A deposit taken this way is a full payment, not a card hold, so returning any of it is a payment you send back yourself, under your own terms. Zoyn has no refund button.

What does it cost me?

A percentage of each payment, agreed with you in writing before you go live: crypto payments start at 0.75%, and card payments, if your business can take them, have a separate, higher price. No monthly platform fee and no setup fee. Network fees, and any extra charge for how your customer pays, are separate. Your customer pays them on top of your price and sees their total before they pay.

Will you take my tailoring business?

We publish every business type we take and every one we refuse, and every application is reviewed before it goes live. We don't promise a timeline we can't keep.

Legal & regulatory disclosures

Zoyn is software. It is not a bank, a payment processor, a payment gateway, a money transmitter or a money services business. Zoyn is never the seller in a sale (the "merchant of record"). Zoyn never holds a shop's money, and does not decide how long a payment company may hold it. When a customer pays by card or bank, the payment company handles that payment under its own terms and may hold it for a short time. The money then goes to the shop's own payment contract once the payment network has confirmed it.

Businesses can be based in 64 jurisdictions. A US state stays open when at least one checkout partner still serves buyers there. Customers can pay from 130+ countries through the checkout providers we connect to; which countries customers can pay from is set by those providers, not by Zoyn, and may change without notice. Not available in sanctioned jurisdictions: Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan, Syria, and the Crimea, Donetsk, and Luhansk regions of Ukraine.
