Payments for private dining

Take the prepayment for the evening. Take it off the bill on the night.

For buyouts, private rooms, chef's tables and tasting-menu evenings you quote by email, not everyday table bookings. Send one link for the prepayment, take it off the final bill on the night, and stablecoins settle to a wallet you control.

Before you read on: we publish every business type we take and every one we refuse — 28 we take, 11 we refuse.

Why this is harder than it looks

A room closed to everyone else, a bill to match, and a no-show that costs the evening.

The room is closed to everyone else

A buyout or a chef's-table evening is booked weeks ahead, and you turn other diners away for it.

Send one link for the prepayment with your emailed quote, with the booking number as the description. Every link is a single payment of a fixed amount.

The prepayment has to meet the bill

On the night, the party wants to see that what they paid ahead has been counted.

The prepayment comes off the final bill. The rest is paid on the night the way your guests usually pay, or as its own link.

A no-show costs the whole evening

The food is bought and the staff are booked, whether the party comes or not.

Your booking terms decide what the prepayment covers if the party cancels. A late-cancellation fee is its own link. Zoyn keeps no card on file to charge it.

Prepayments settle to a wallet only you control.

Two limits worth knowing. If your own account with us is under review, automatic payouts pause until that is resolved. And a buyer paying by card can be declined, or asked to prove who they are, before the money is sent — a payment that doesn't happen, never money taken back from you afterwards.

How it works

Quote the evening, take the prepayment, count it on the night.

1

Send the quote for the evening

The menu, the room, the date, and the prepayment it needs.

2

Send the prepayment link

The organiser pays from their own wallet, or by card where available — buyer eligibility depends on country, payment method, provider, and compliance checks.

3

The payment reaches your wallet

After the required network confirmations, in the currency the link was set in. On the night, take it off the bill.

Common questions

What a restaurant asks first.

Is this for everyday table bookings?

No. This is for the evenings you quote by email: a private room, a buyout, a chef's table or a tasting-menu event. Everyday reservations stay with your booking system.

Can the organiser pay the prepayment in parts?

No. Every link is a single payment for a fixed amount, and nothing is charged automatically. If your terms ask for two payments, send two links.

The party cancelled. What happens to the prepayment?

Your booking terms decide what is owed. A prepayment taken this way is a full payment, not a card hold, so returning any of it is a payment you send back yourself. Zoyn has no refund button.

What does it cost me?

A percentage of each payment, agreed with you in writing before you go live: crypto payments start at 0.75%, and card payments, if your business can take them, have a separate, higher price. No monthly platform fee and no setup fee. Network fees, and any extra charge for how your customer pays, are separate. Your customer pays them on top of your price and sees their total before they pay.

Will you take my restaurant?

We publish every business type we take and every one we refuse, and every application is reviewed before it goes live. We don't promise a timeline we can't keep.

Running a restaurant day to day? Read the page for restaurants. Not sure we'd take your business? See exactly how we decide.

Zoyn is software. It is not a bank, a payment processor, a payment gateway, a money transmitter or a money services business. Zoyn is never the seller in a sale (the "merchant of record"). Zoyn never holds a shop's money, and does not decide how long a payment company may hold it. When a customer pays by card or bank, the payment company handles that payment under its own terms and may hold it for a short time. The money then goes to the shop's own payment contract once the payment network has confirmed it.

Businesses can be based in 64 jurisdictions. A US state stays open when at least one checkout partner still serves buyers there. Customers can pay from 130+ countries through the checkout providers we connect to; which countries customers can pay from is set by those providers, not by Zoyn, and may change without notice. Not available in sanctioned jurisdictions: Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan, Syria, and the Crimea, Donetsk, and Luhansk regions of Ukraine.
